lyrics

A city once enshrined in greatness
Left to rot and decay with time
A dying sun reflected in shattered glass
Streets over ran with death and crime

Two sides battle, locked in constant war
Their intentions loathsome and corrupt to their hardened core
Lives taken in the name of false deities
A religion not of love, but animosity

When you hear the drums
The numbers will be drawn
Men like rats crawl from the slums
Acting as mere pawns
Bloated bodies hang upon
The remnants of our past
Victims of brutality
That never will be surpassed

This City Could Never Last

A man-made machine becomes a god through legend and lore
His reign reflected in bereavement galore

A kingdom long devoid of generosity
No man has ever known such monstrosity

When you hear the drums
The numbers will be drawn
Men like rats crawl from the slums
Acting as mere pawns
Bloated bodies hang upon
The remnants of our past
Victims of brutality
That never will be surpassed

Electric blue lighting
Touches the celestial sphere
Both sides struggling and fighting
For all that they hold dear

A purple death cloud from below
Taking their last breath
An already forgotten wasteland
Now there is only death

When you hear the drums
The numbers will be drawn
Men like rats crawl from the slums
Acting as mere pawns
Bloated bodies hang upon
The remnants of our past
Victims of brutality
That never will be surpassed
